Home Energy Assessment

Home Energy Assessment

< Return to Rebates While incentives last, home owners can access a $150 rebate when obtaining a home energy assessment that results in an EnerGuide rating for the home, regardless of the actual rating. In addition to the $150 rebate, homeowners who improve the EnerGuide rating for their home can apply for an additional incentive to a maximum of $200 with a copy of the follow-up home energy assessment report. This program enables home owners in RDN Electoral Areas and the District of Lantzville to save money while taking steps to reduce energy consumption in their home. City of Nanaimo residents can view the Home Energy Assessment information for their area.

Notice to Lantzville Residents

Lantzville area residents will not be eligible for this rebate after December 31, 2020.  The District of Lantzville will manage its own building permitting and inspection as of 1 October, 2020 and will no longer be part of the RDN’s Green Building Rebate program.  A three month (October-December 2020) grace period is being provided for Lantzville residents to submit rebate applications to the RDN for purchases made in 2020.  Applications received from Lantzville residents after December 31, 2020 will not be eligible for rebates.
