Recycle - What Goes Where

What Goes Where

There are over 900 items and 200 drop-off locations in the What Goes Where waste wizard! Location hours, fees, and accepted items are subject to change, so we recommend always checking the drop-off location's website or calling ahead.

What Goes Where is updated and maintained for residential depot and curbside waste. Many depots accept recyclables - and some types of hazardous waste - on behalf of province-wide recycling programs mandated by the provincial government. There can be size, quantity, labeling and other restrictions for these province-wide programs, so check with the participating depot before drop-off.

Many province-wide recycling programs are limited to residential waste. Acceptance of commercial waste changes across each facility, and even the type of material within a facility. Before visiting, businesses should check the facility for accepted items and rates.

Most apartments, condos, townhouses and stratas in the region receive waste collection services from a private hauler, arranged by the strata council and/or property management. If you are looking for information on what is accepted by your apartment or condo, please reach out to your property manager or private waste hauler.
