Welcome to the Nanoose Bay Fire Department (NBFD), the heart of our emergency response operations. Located at 2471 Nanoose Road, our hall is home to a dedicated team of firefighters and the equipment that helps us protect Nanoose Bay.  

Established in 1972, NBFD provides emergency response to the residents of Nanoose in Electoral Area E and parts of Electoral Area G. The composite department has a full-time Fire Chief, Deputy Chief and Fire Safety Rescue Technician, with approximately 20+ paid-on-call firefighters operating from the station. 

NBFD responds to about 250 to 300 calls annually, including structure fires, motor vehicle collisions, medical first response, road rescue, structural collapse, marine- fires, wildland events and burning complaints. 

The fire hall at Nanoose includes: 

• A multi-bay garage for our apparatus 
• Training and meeting rooms 
• Equipment storage and maintenance areas 
• Office space for administration and incident command 

We maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused environment to ensure rapid response and effective coordination during emergencies. Visitors are welcome during open house events and Fire Prevention Week.
