Welcome to the Coombs-Hilliers Fire Department (CHVFD), proudly serving the communities of Coombs, Hilliers and Whiskey Creek since 1965. Operating out of two stations—#1 Fire Hall at 992 Ford Road and #2 Fire Hall at 3241 Alberni Highway—our department is the heart of emergency response for RDN Electoral Area F. CHVFD is staffed by three full-time employees and approximately 15 volunteer firefighters, all committed to protecting lives and property.

Our team responds to 200–300 calls annually, including structure fires, motor vehicle collisions, medical first response, road rescue, structural collapse, wildland events and burning complaints.

Our facilities feature:

  • Multi-bay garages for apparatus
  • Training and meeting rooms
  • Equipment storage and maintenance areas
  • Water tank storage for firefighting purposes
  • Office space for administration and incident command

We maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused environment to ensure rapid response and effective coordination during emergencies. Visitors are welcome during open house events and Fire Prevention Week.

In 2021, CHVFD received Superior Tanker Shuttle Service accreditation, providing insurance benefits to property owners within the recognition area.
