RDN evacuation Plans 

RDN Electoral Area E and District of Lantzville Evacuation Route Plan 

The evacuation route plan for Electoral Area E and District of Lantzville was made possible by a grant from the Provincial Community Emergency Preparedness Fund, which supports and enhances emergency programs such as evacuation route planning. This evacuation route plan prepared by ISL Engineering and Land Services (ISL), details the analysis undertaken to estimate how long it will take to evacuate under several emergency scenarios.

RDN Electoral Area B Evacuation Route Plan  

The evacuation route plan for Electoral Area B will guide the RDN Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) in the event of an evacuation of Gabriola Island, Mudge Island, and/or DeCourcy Island. The information presented within this document was primarily collected through stakeholder engagement sessions and leverages the professional experience of staff from organizations within the area, as well as from community associations and residents from across all three islands.

RDN Emergency Livestock Evacuation Plan 

The emergency livestock evacuation plan will guide the RDN’s Emergency Operation Centre (EOC), emergency management stakeholders and local livestock owners on how best to support emergency events requiring livestock evacuation.

RDN Evacuation Route Guide for Electoral Area F and Spider Lake/Horne Lake Area H 

The evacuation route plan will guide the RDN on evacuation activities within RDN Electoral Area F and partial areas of RDN Electoral Area H. This plan specifies agency roles and responsibilities and includes planning considerations for moving at-risk populations away from a hazardous environment within the project area.

Evacuation Projects Underway

The next collaborative project planned for the RDN is an Evacuation Route Plan for RDN Electoral Area G, City of Parksville, Town of Qualicum Beach.
