The Regional District of Nanaimo (RDN), through the Oceanside Services Committee, recognizes amateur competitors who achieve first place standing in a sport, artistic or cultural competition at a provincial, inter-provincial or national competition. In addition, the RDN recognizes amateur competitors who have been chosen by their organization to represent Canada at a recognized international competition. Nominees must be residents of the City of Parksville, Town of Qualicum Beach or Electoral Areas E, F, G, or H.

The next recognition ceremony will be held November 14, 2024.

If you know someone who deserves to be nominated, please click here to download a copy of the Performance Recognition Program Form Nominations received by Monday, October 21 will be considered for the 2024 ceremony. Nominations received after this date will be considered for 2025.

Fire departments in District 69 are gearing up to fill their boots for food! On the weekend of November 16 and November 17, firefighters will be located throughout the Oceanside region collecting cash donations for the Salvation Army food bank. Please check your local fire department’s website for collection details. Participating fire departments are Bow Horn Bay Fire Department, Coombs Hilliers Volunteer Fire Department, Dashwood Volunteer Fire Department, Deep Bay Fire and Rescue, Errington Volunteer Fire Department, Nanoose Volunteer Fire Department, Parksville Volunteer Fire Department and Qualicum Beach Fire Department.
