Emergency Alert - Mt. Hayes Wildfire Update - Aug 21 Evening

B.C. Wildfire Service has reported this evening little to no growth of the Mt. Hayes Fire today. They are making significant progress in containing the fire and will be running overnight operations again.

The Regional District of Nanaimo (RDN) issued a joint Evacuation Alert August 20, 2021 with the Cowichan Valley Regional District which remains in effect. 

The RDN will to have a Call Centre open Sunday, August 22 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to answer questions at 250-390-0940. We will continue to monitor the situation after hours and provide any updates on Sunday or if the situation evolves before then.
