Top Bridge Regional Trail

This rough and ready 5-kilometre trail connects Rathtrevor Beach Provincial Park with the Top Bridge Crossing, a magnificent pedestrian-cyclist suspension bridge spanning the Englishman River. Take a rustic ramble or bike ride from the urban sea-side to the cool woodlands of the Englishman River. At Top Bridge, take a break, take a dip, or sit on the rocks and enjoy the beauty of this famous salmon river.

Trail Alert, Updated March 21, 2024

A section of the Top Bridge Regional Trail between the Inland Island Highway and Industrial Way that crosses private land has been closed to public access since May 2023. The RDN has reached an agreement with the City of Parksville to realign a section of the Top Bridge Regional Trail over an existing road right-of-way and on City of Parksville-owned lands to restore public access from the resort area of Parksville to the Top Bridge suspension bridge crossing. The trail work is expected to begin in April and will be substantially complete by the fall of 2024. Intermittent trail closures will occur when trail improvements are being implemented on the new trail.
