RDN News Release - Evacuation Order and Alerts Issued

The Regional District of Nanaimo (RDN) has issued an evacuation order and evacuation alerts in response to local flooding. A map of impacted areas can be viewed at rdn.bc.ca/current-alerts. Residents living in the area on evacuation order that were at home have been contacted directly. All residents are asked to leave the area immediately. Residents on alert and in low lying areas are encouraged to take precautions and if flooding occurs, move to higher ground. Stay away from river and stream banks as fast-moving water conditions are very dangerous.
