RDN News Release - Little Qualicum River Regional Park Land Exchange AAP Results

The Little Qualicum River Regional Park Land Exchange was approved through an alternative approval process (AAP) that concluded at 4 p.m. on November 28, 2022. The Regional District of Nanaimo (RDN) conducted the AAP in accordance with Section 86 of the Community Charter. Of an estimated 136,802 of eligible electors in the regional district, 3 valid elector response forms were received by the deadline in opposition to Bylaw No. 1859, 2022. Approval for the bylaw was obtained as less than 10 per cent of electors submitted an elector response form by the November 28, 2022, response deadline. As the 10 per cent threshold was not met, the RDN can proceed with the land exchange.
