Hamilton Marsh Regional Park and Conservation Area

The Hamilton Marsh Regional Park and Conservation Area totals 364 hectares of mature forest and ecologically significant wetland, with the marsh itself spanning a vast 36 hectares. The property acquisition was finalized on March 27, 2026, ensuring this valuable piece of the French Creek watershed is secured as the RDN’s thirteenth regional park and conservation area.

Many species of wildlife and waterfowl use the marsh and surrounding second-growth forest, some of which are listed by the Conservation Data Centre as species of concern or at risk. The 100-year-old mature forest will be classified as old-growth within 150 years and represents an important recruitment site for the rare Coastal Douglas-fir Forest type within the province.

Visitors to Hamilton Marsh can enjoy connecting with nature, bird watching, and easy walking trails.
