    Youth Week May 1-7

    Regional District of Nanaimo, Recreation and Parks, Society of Services (SOS), VIHA, Career Centre and community partners are proud to celebrate National Youth Week from May 1 to May 7 annually.

    Youth are a vital part of each community and contribute meaningful experiences through their participation in a wide variety of programs. Whether it is recreation, arts, civic engagement, drama, dance, sport, volunteerism, or leadership, their contributions help shape our community.

    Throughout May 1 to May 7, we celebrate teens by offering workshops, contests, and activities.

    YOUTH WEEK EVENT

    Friday May 6th from 6:00pm-8:00pm, pre register here, OR drop in for only $2 at Oceanside Place Arena

    The night includes

    • Skating
    • Laser Tag
    • Games room 
    • Challenges 
    • Prizes throughout the night

  • 16th Annual Golden Shoe Hunt

    Location: various RDN Parks and Trails

    Take part in this year’s 16th annual hunt for the golden shoe in regional and community parks. Each week a golden shoe is hidden in an RDN park and a clue to its location is released. Head out to the park to find the shoe, log your entry and maybe pick up a prize. Adventurers of all ages will enjoy the hunt.

    Clues and instructions for the locations of the shoes will be posted weekly to getinvolved.rdn.ca/golden-shoe, and RDN social media (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram) starting April 15 until May 20.
