RDN News Release - Tree Removal on RDN Property

Tree removal at the Regional District of Nanaimo’s (RDN) property at 6300 Hammond Bay Road, Nanaimo is taking place to accommodate necessary infrastructure upgrades. Of the trees in the small construction area (as identified in the accompanying image), most must be removed. An arborist was consulted to ensure as many trees as possible are retained on the site alongside the required infrastructure. The tree removal will not impact parking lot access or the services provided at the administration or transit buildings. Phase 1 will begin on March 11, 2026, and Phase 2 is projected to begin around late April 2026.
