RDN Invites Input on the Mount Benson Regional Park Management Plan

The Regional District of Nanaimo (RDN) Nanaimo is updating the Mount Benson Regional Park Management Plan to guide the future of this important regional park over the next ten years. The updated plan will address emerging issues, explore recreation and conservation opportunities and provide direction for the two newest parcels of land that were added to the east side of the park in 2022. It will also update and build upon the policies in the 2010-2020 Management Plan. In the first phase of public engagement, residents and park users are invited to provide their input to help build an understanding about the park’s natural, cultural and recreational values and to collect ideas for the park’s future.

The RDN will be hosting a drop-in open house at the Mount Benson Regional Park main parking lot where residents and park users can speak with the project team, ask questions and share their input and ideas on the future of Mount Benson Regional Park.

Open House

Date: Saturday, May 24
Time: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Location: 2761 Benson View Road, Nanaimo

In addition to the open house, an online survey is available on the project webpage until Monday, June 9. For more information, to complete the survey, to view the current 2010-2020 Mount Benson Regional Park Management Plan and to submit questions, visit getinvolved.rdn.ca/mbrp-management-plan.
