The RDN extreme cold weather warming centre in Parksville will be re-opening:
- Sunday, February 9 from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.
- Monday, February 10 from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m.
- Tuesday, February 11 from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m.
Those needing a warm place for relief from the colder overnight temperatures can go to the Oceanside Community Church at 1420 Alberni Hwy, Parksville.
RDN Transit will be providing shuttle service to the warming centre from:
- Sunday from 6:45 p.m. to 8:45 p.m., with return trips Monday morning from 6:45 a.m. to 7:15 a.m.
- Monday from 9:45 p.m. to 11:45 p.m., with return trips Tuesday morning from 7:45 a.m. to 8:15 a.m.
- Tuesday from 9:45 p.m. to 11:45 p.m., with return trips Wednesday from 7:45 a.m. to 8:15 a.m.
The shuttle route is Parksville City Hall - Salvation Army (Parksville) - Oceanside Health Centre - Oceanside Community Church. Multiple round trips will be provided during the shuttle service.
