Public Notice - Odours from the Regional Landfill

The Regional District of Nanaimo (RDN) will be shutting down the flare station at the Regional Landfill in Cedar to do an upgrade between November 12 and December 10, 2024. The upgrade is needed to meet provincial requirements and increase reliability. During this time, the landfill will remain open. An increase in landfill odour is expected during the shutdown. The odour will be unpleasant but not hazardous.
