White Rapids Fire in Extension Being Held

The BC Wildfire (BCWS) has updated the status of the White Rapids Wildfire (V71945) within the Regional District of Nanaimo (RDN) near Extension, in Electoral Area C to being held late this morning. This means the wildfire is projected, to remain within the current perimeter, control line or boundary. Fire crews remain on scene and will continue working throughout the day. The public is asked to avoid the area, specifically McDonald Road and Gun Barrel Access Route, to allow fire control operations to effectively access and mange the site.
