Benson Creek Falls Regional Park and Ammonite Falls Regional Trail

This rugged 32-hectare park of creeks and waterfalls, steep ravines and mossy woods sits at the north end of the Crown woodlot operated by Vancouver Island University. The RDN has leased Benson Creek Falls Regional Park from the Province since 1991 and has recently completed significant park upgrades to help users better enjoy one of Nanaimo's most prized natural sites, Ammonite Falls.

Ammonite Falls Regional Trail begins at the Weigles Road parking lot and crosses the Benson Creek bridge before reaching Ammonite Falls. From the falls, the trail continues to Jameson Road and the Creekside Place parking lot. Ammonite Falls is a 1.5 km hike from the Weigles Road parking lot, or a 2.5 km hike from the Creekside Place parking lot.
