Ocean Mile Swim

For over 60 years, the Town of Qualicum Beach has brought you the Ocean Mile Swim – in partnership with the Regional District of Nanaimo. The swim tests your skills in friendly competition, swimming just over “one” mile at the Qualicum Beach waterfront and offers the chance to win a coveted trophy across 15 award categories.

Join us for the 45th annual Terry Fox Run taking place on Sunday, September 14 at Rathtrevor Provincial Park at 10 a.m. Join your community to run, walk, bike or volunteer.

Science in the Park-Tree Science

Take a short nature walk to identify local species, examine tree and leaf samples under microscopes, create leaf rubbings, and more.

Active Aging Week October 6-12

RDN Recreation and Parks invites older adults to get inspired at this year’s Active Aging Week. With free activities from October 6 thru to 12, try a new activity, fitness or yoga class, weaving, hiking or take a workshop. This week is a great time to find ways to increase your daily physical activity and connect with your community.

Learn How to Ride the Bus - Free Workshop

Are you feeling confused or unsure how to get around on transit? Then join us for a fun and FREE group session. Learn everything you need to know to be confident riding the bus. How to read the transit maps and schedules, buying passes and how it works for scooters, walkers, wheelchairs, bikes and more. We will bring a bus to the session so you can get a hands-on experience. Pre-registration is required. All ages welcome, children must be accompanied by an adult. Join us outside at the rear parking lot of the arena (Wembley Rd side). Look for the bus.
