2022 Electoral Area C By-Election

A by-election for Electoral Area C was declared by acclamation on Monday, May 9, 2022.

The rules regarding by-elections are generally the same as those for general local elections – in other words, the same rules typically apply for matters such as the roles and responsibilities of the local government and Elections BC, election administration, voter eligibility and voting, the qualifications for running for office, and campaign financing rules.

As part of the General Local Election system in British Columbia, Electoral Area Directors may be elected by acclamation (in the case of a single qualified candidate) or by voting (where there is more than one qualified candidate).
