The Regional District of Nanaimo (RDN) is moving the Englishman River Community Water Service Area (River’s Edge subdivision) to Stage 4 Watering Restrictions effective today, July 9, 2021. Water demand has not been sufficiently reduced since Stage 3 watering restrictions were put into effect on June 29, 2021 and the hot, dry weather conditions are expected to continue. A comprehensive ban on outdoor watering is now required to ensure that the community’s essential water needs are met for drinking water, hygiene and fire protection.
