RDN News Release - Evacuation Route Planning Grant

The Regional District of Nanaimo (RDN) has been approved for a grant of $25,000 for Evacuation Route Planning for Electoral Area B. The Community Emergency Preparedness grant, which is funded by the Government of British Columbia and administered by the Union of BC Municipalities, will enable the RDN to identify strategies and alternate evacuation methods to coordinate a safe and orderly multi-agency evacuation response for Gabriola, Mudge and DeCourcy Islands.
