RDN - Back Country Horsemen Joint News Release - Equestrian Parking Lot

The Regional District of Nanaimo (RDN) has completed an expansion to the parking area located at Timberlands Road to better accommodate horse trailer access and turn around. Originally built in 2019, expansion of the parking area was developed in consultation with the Back Country Horsemen of BC, Central Vancouver Island Chapter as the area is a popular access point for The Great Trail by equestrians in addition to other recreational user groups. The larger parking lot provides equestrians with a designated area to safely unload horses from their trailers.
