Whiskey Creek Update - Stage 4 Watering Restrictions Still in Effect

The Whiskey Creek Water Service Area is still experiencing unusually high levels of colour from Crocker Creek, and Stage 4 Watering Restrictions are still in effect.  Regional District of Nanaimo (RDN) is asking the users of this water system to use as little water as possible.

While alternate water sources are being developed, Crocker Creek remains the sole source of drinking water available within the Whiskey Creek Water Service Area.  RDN staff have been able to treat the Crocker Creek water at certain times, but the water storage reservoir is largely being topped-up with treated drinking water from other potable sources.  Please note that trucking-in water is very costly, and is not sustainable.

The RDN appreciates your continued cooperation in reducing all water usage as much as possible.
