OCP Documents

The RDN provides land use planning services to the Region's electoral areas except Electoral Area B (Gabriola Island) which is under the jurisdiction of the Island's Trust. An Official Community Plan (OCP) provides a long-term approach to land use, development and servicing. OCPs must also include a context statement showing how they will reflect the policy and goals of the Growth Management Plan.

The following Electoral Area communities have OCPs to assist in guiding their future land use decisions:

• Electoral Area A (Cassidy, Cedar, Yellow Point, South Wellington)
• Electoral Area C (Arrowsmith-Benson/Cranberry-Bright)
• Electoral Area C (East Wellington/Pleasant Valley)
• Electoral Area E (Nanoose Bay)
• Electoral Area F (Errington/Coombs/Hilliers)
• Electoral Area G - Bylaw 1540, 2008
• Electoral Area H - Bylaw 1335
