A Shared Community Vision

1. Take 5 and Nanaimo News Bulletin

   All notices and media releases for the Official Community Plan review will be advertised in the Take 5 Magazine and the Nanaimo News Bulletin.

2. RDN website: www.rdn.bc.ca

   The Regional District of Nanaimo will maintain a comprehensive webpage devoted to the Official Community Plan review.

3. Subscribe to the Regional District of Nanaimo email alert system

   It is easy and by doing so you will receive periodic emails alerting you of updates and announcements related to the Official Community Plan review.

4. Contact RDN staff

   You don't have to go to a meeting to participate. Regional District of Nanaimo staff are available during regular business hours to discuss you ideas, questions, or concerns. We can be reached at (250) 390-6510.

5. Community Bulletin Boards

   We are aware of a number of community bulletin boards located in Electoral Area 'A'. We will endeavour to include periodic information about the Official Community Plan review on these Boards.

6. Through community groups (blog)

   We encourage you to speak to your community leaders and to community groups about the Official Community Plan review. We also encourage community groups to play an active role by providing opportunities at a community level for discussion and debate, either through their existing meetings or electronic means such as blogs initiated by individuals or community groups. Community groups who want to play an active role in the Official Community Plan review process who have websites are encouraged to contact the Regional District of Nanaimo regarding providing a web link from the Area A Official Community Plan review page to the community group website so that information can be made available to everyone who is interested.

7. By speaking with OCP review committee members

   Once selected, your Official Community Plan review committee members will be an excellent source of current information related to the Official Community Plan review.

8. Shaw Cable 4

   From time to time the Regional District of Nanaimo will submit public service announcements on the Official Community Plan review for display on Shaw Cable 4.

9. CHLY 101.7FM and CKWV 102.3FM

   The Regional District of Nanaimo will send notices and other media releases to CHLY and CKWV.
